Empowering communities through savings, loans, and financial cooperation.
"Building Financial Strength Together"
Lefohlelo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society began as an informal neighbourhood savings and grocery initiative. Members contributed funds at the beginning of each year, creating a shared pool of resources.
From these contributions, members were able to lend money to one another at an agreed interest rate of 10% per month. This system allowed members to support each other financially while growing their savings over time.
At the end of each year, members used both their initial contributions and the interest earned to purchase groceries, especially in preparation for the Christmas season. This cycle continues annually, promoting financial discipline, community support, and economic empowerment.
To promote a culture of saving, provide accessible credit to members, and improve financial well-being within our community.
To become a trusted and sustainable cooperative that empowers members economically and supports long-term financial growth.
